Dr. Ryu's research interests are focused on mathematical modeling and analysis of dynamical systems arising from other disciplines, like systems biology, neuroscience, epidemiology, or sociology. |
Professor of Mathematics at Elon University
Dr. Nancy Scherich researches the intersection of algebra and low dimensional topology—in particular she studies knots and braids. As a dancer and mathematician, Dr. Scherich uses dance as a communication tool to explain higher level mathematics. Check out her website www.nancyscherich.com |

Our History
Madison Arnel
IRIS Founder |
Madison Arnel founded IRIS in 2017 as a way to bridge the gap between STEM and STEM-related fields, providing the opportunity for undergraduates to present and learn about research, and broadening the STEM community at Wake Forest and beyond. With the vision of celebrating the rich progress cross-disciplinary interactions have to offer, her goal was for attendees to open their minds and break the barriers that margin STEM fields.
Since her IRIS endeavors, Madison has graduated from Wake Forest University and is currently pursuing her dream of applying to medical school in her home state of South Carolina. Her ultimate dream is to serve communities as a physician, compassionate leader, and mentor. |
